Festival Journey - Immersive, transformative theatre

A Festival journey filled with immersive stories, both old and new.

THE TEMPEST

Begin your journey with The Tempest, where original Victorian Circus stage mechanics transform the Great Yarmouth Hippodrome into a mesmerising magical island. Storms and spirits flood the stage as a cast of actors and acrobats, directed by Festival Artistic Director William Galinsky, create this mischievous magical world.

THE STORY MACHINE

After the magical spectacle of The Tempest, experience intimate new worlds at every turn in the 15th Century Dragon Hall. The Story Machine is a unique literary event that attempts to recreate, in a live setting, that immersive feeling of being lost in a book.

With writers from across the globe, The Story Machine brings theatre and literature together to tell stories in underground spaces, in the back seat of a car, and even with a slice of pizza.

Check out Writers’ Centre Norwich Programmer Sam Ruddock’s blog on the event here.
