Age range: 4-18

Region: Norfolk and Suffolk

The St John the Baptist Catholic MAT currently have six Primary Schools and one High School as part of their Trust. Their vision is the provision and development of a world class community of schools, providing the highest possible care, support opportunities and outcomes for every child, including a rich arts and cultural education. Festival Bridge began working with the Trust on their Artsmark journey in July 2017, offering a bespoke approach to fit with the needs of each school and the Trust as a whole.

“The Arts are a crucial part of a rich and balanced education and within our schools we will ensure that these subjects are given the priority they need in the curriculum and a wide range of extra-curricular activities. As part of our ethos we believe that our pupils should have a variety of experiences within subjects such as Music, Art, Drama to stimulate their creativity, broaden their horizons and celebrate the unique way in which the Arts contributes to a rounded and effective education. We hope to demonstrate this via our commitment to gaining Artsmark for all the schools in our Trust, and I am excited by all the wonderful activities that our pupils will undertake as we work towards the award.” Brian Conway, CEO of St John Baptist CMAT

“Art and Culture provide a currency and language that stretch well beyond the confines of the curriculum and exam results. They provide entry into a world of future opportunity and fulfilment. This is one of the key reasons why St John the Baptist Multi Academy Trust is one of the first MATs to form a joint commitment to seeking Artsmark accreditation. The trust will be working together in order to evolve the flow of ideas and expertise across our schools ” Tom Pinnington, Deputy Head of Notre Dame High School
