Ashley Riches baritone
Joseph Middleton piano

Schubert Die schöne Müllerin

One of the bright stars of the vocal world, Ashley Riches has been praised for his honey-toned voice and expressive artistry all of which will be showcased in Schubert’s captivating song-cycle. The 20 songs in The Tale of the Fair Miller-Maid move from youthful optimism to disillusion and despair as the doomed journeyman’s love remains unrequited, in what is considered to be one of the pinnacles of the Lied.

PLEASE NOTE: The talk accompanying this concert, which was originally advertised as a pre-show talk, will now take place after the performance.
