Le Coup

This is a past event which has now ended.

Chelsea McGuffin & Co, legendary creator of fantastical circus shows Scotch & Soda and Cantina, storm Norwich for the first time with international hit Le Coup.

Enter a neo-vaudeville speakeasy, where it’s fight night at the circus. Join a ragtag troupe of travelling misfits as they compete and challenge each other with amazing circus skills, fire breathing, daring aerial feats, tap dancing and acrobatics.

Let the Boss show you the ropes as The King of the Ring, Sally the Ally Cat, The Bookie, Bloody Mary, and Fred put on a real show. Grab a drink, place your bets and pull up a seat ringside for a fight like no other!

Le Coup is a tribute to funfairs, boxing troupes and the showmen and women of yesteryear, accompanied by a ferocious live soundtrack from bluegrass band Father Grant and The Blunt Objects.

Chelsea McGuffin & Co have gained a reputation for creating visceral vaudevillian worlds in which acrobatics, magic, dance, and live music entwine for a scintillatingly visceral entertainment experience.

Arts make life better

Norfolk & Norwich Festival brings tens of thousands of people together in celebration – it has been doing this for 250 years. Through our May Festival and our year-round arts education work, focusing on children and young people, we lead and support celebration, creativity and curiosity in communities across Norfolk and the region.

This year we begin an exciting new initiative, Festival Connect & Create that will bring creative opportunities to those schools and communities with least provision. Creativity transforms people’s lives. It builds cohesive communities, develops vital skills and supports health and wellbeing. We want more people to have access to creative opportunities.

Please consider donating to support and develop this work. With your help we can increase access to the life changing power of the arts.
