Chamber music has always been known as the music of friends, and hearing Schubert’s ever-fresh Trout Quintet performed by five friends of exceptional musical calibre will be a highlight of this year’s Festival.
The infectious melodies and bubbling charm of Schubert’s work are paired with the composer’s emotive Notturno in E flat major and Brahms’ expansive first piano quartet, creating an evening of intimate chamber music magic.
*Timothy Ridout replaces Brett Dean, who is no longer able to take part in this concert for personal reasons. Bartok’s Rhapsody No.1 replaces the Brett Dean piece originally programmed. We will be contacting all ticket holders in the next few days.
