Monday 21 - Sunday 27 May
Wells Beach, Wells-next-the-sea
Whilst the sun sets over Wells beach, come and experience a celebration of our natural environment as sculptural installations come to life with illuminations, musical interludes and movement.
Wayfaring is a journey of exploration, inspired by the present landscape and ancient routes of the Icknield Way. Using local and found materials, artists And Now: will create an installation on the beach – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – that invites audiences to think about how we arrive at, understand, protect and leave a space.
The Icknield Way runs from Norfolk to the Dorset Coast and has existed since pre-Roman times. Following the Premiere in Norfolk, they will also create installations in Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the North Wessex Downs and Dorset.
There will be no free parking at this event and space will be very limited. If you are booked onto the coach from Norwich, it will be leaving from outside Norwich Theatre Royal at 6pm and leave Wells between 10 – 10.30pm, or earlier if everyone who is booked onto the coach is ready to leave before then. Note that we are no longer taking coach bookings.
Dates & TimesFriday 25 & Saturday 26 May, 8pm - 10pm, the event is not a set two hour performance; illuminations, musical interludes and movement will animate the installation. Arrive when you want and stay for as long as you would like. The artists will be building this installation during daylight hours from Monday 21 to Friday 25 May.
