From the Musical Director who brought Stormy: The Life of Lena Horne to last year’s Festival, don’t miss this year’s tribute to another legendary singer.
Inspired by Billie Holiday’s legendary 1956 concert, at which her performance was accompanied by extracts from her autobiography Lady Sings The Blues, singer David McAlmont gives his unique interpretations of the Lady Day catalogue while quoting from her extraordinary life story. The show includes many of the most well-known Holiday songs, including; ‘What A Little Moonlight Can Do’, ‘My Man’, and ‘Don’t Explain’.
