Philip Hayes Directs The Music
A fundraising sermon with musical performances, to raise money for the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital.
Visiting musician and later Professor of Music at Oxford, Philip Hayes directed the music which included his own anthem and a programme of mainly compositions by Handel.
Performers were required to attend three rehearsals. On the day of the service, music bookended the sermon, which was usually delivered by a visiting preacher or other distinguished clergymen from the diocese.
