Talking Statues Tour

Fri 10, Tue 14 – Fri 17 and Tue 21 – Thu 23 May

This is a past event which has now ended.

Ten of Norwich’s historic statues have been given the gift of the gab, and they’ve got a lot to tell your students!

A tour guide and facilitator will take you on a guided tour of Norwich to meet the statues, hear their stories and learn about the city’s rich history. This guided trip of the enigmatic Talking Statues will take students on a journey through the city, experiencing history and culture.

All students will enjoy a visit to the Museum of Norwich at the Bridewell and gain their Arts Award Discover.

Talking Statues seeks to encourage people to look at the city, its statues and their lives in the city in a new way. It is a great opportunity for young people to ‘look up’ and to explore whilst learning.

Arts make life better

Norfolk & Norwich Festival brings tens of thousands of people together in celebration – it has been doing this for over 250 years. Through our May Festival and our year-round arts education work, focusing on children and young people, we lead and support celebration, creativity and curiosity in communities across Norfolk and the region.

This year we begin an exciting new initiative, Festival Connect & Create that will bring creative opportunities to those schools and communities with least provision. Creativity transforms people’s lives. It builds cohesive communities, develops vital skills and supports health and wellbeing. We want more people to have access to creative opportunities.

Please consider donating to support and develop this work. With your help we can increase access to the life changing power of the arts.
