Become a Friend

A trio of Hoipolloi

To celebrate award-winning Hoipolloi’s 25th anniversary we are proud to present a trilogy of story-telling shows. Hugh Hughes presents Shôn Dale-Jones in The Duke, ME & ROBIN HOOD and  brand new show The Ladder.

The Duke playfully mixes fantasy and reality, taking audiences on an imaginative and touching journey, which gently challenges us to consider our priorities in a world full of crisis.

ME & ROBIN HOOD is a show about Shôn Dale-Jones’ longstanding relationship with his favourite fictional friend, questioning the value of art and the power of story while looking at the direction our world is heading in.

The Ladder looks at the way optimism and pessimism affects how we create stories. It explores how the tales we tell influence the lives we lead and wonders about what we don’t tell.

See them separately or buy a joint ticket for all three shows on Saturday 18 May for £30.

Arts make life better

Norfolk & Norwich Festival brings tens of thousands of people together in celebration – it has been doing this for 250 years. Through our May Festival and our year-round arts education work, focusing on children and young people, we lead and support celebration, creativity and curiosity in communities across Norfolk and the region.

This year we begin an exciting new initiative, Festival Connect & Create that will bring creative opportunities to those schools and communities with least provision. Creativity transforms people’s lives. It builds cohesive communities, develops vital skills and supports health and wellbeing. We want more people to have access to creative opportunities.

Please consider donating to support and develop this work. With your help we can increase access to the life changing power of the arts.
