Get Involved!

Are you 13-25 years old and interested in discovering what opportunities your local heritage site has to offer you in learning new skills, boosting your CV, and making new friends?

Come along to a Heritage Hack

A Heritage Hack is a one-day event that any young person can come along to and take part in creative activities. You will also be asked your opinion on what activities you and other young people might be interested in taking part in. Your input will directly affect the activities and opportunities we offer young people in Common Ground.

Take Part in a Common Ground Project

Chosen by young people who attended the Heritage Hack events, each common ground project will be a creative course run on a heritage site. Everyone who takes part will work towards completing an arts award.

Become A Trainee

Between now and 2022 there will be 10 traineeships for 18-25 year olds to work in paid placements, co-producing Common Ground Projects in their heritage setting, taking on project and events management, supported in finding initiatives that they would particularly like to champion.

Join our Youth Leadership Program

Common Ground’s youth leadership program will train 15 young people each year to become leaders in Heritage. It is a hands-on approach to skills development, using their new skills to immediately start making decisions about Heritage Hacks, Project proposals, Marketing, Volunteering, project direction and advocacy.

Arts make life better

Norfolk & Norwich Festival brings tens of thousands of people together in celebration – it has been doing this for 250 years. Through our May Festival and our year-round arts education work, focusing on children and young people, we lead and support celebration, creativity and curiosity in communities across Norfolk and the region.

This year we begin an exciting new initiative, Festival Connect & Create that will bring creative opportunities to those schools and communities with least provision. Creativity transforms people’s lives. It builds cohesive communities, develops vital skills and supports health and wellbeing. We want more people to have access to creative opportunities.

Please consider donating to support and develop this work. With your help we can increase access to the life changing power of the arts.
