A Sermon With Music
This year was a fundraising sermon with musical performances, to raise money for the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital.
Also taking place in Norwich at this time:
Just ten years earlier, Norwich had been the first city in England, outside London, to be granted ‘Theatre Royal’ status. This became the earliest form of permanent licensing of theatres in the UK. The first theatre was established in 1758 in the same area as the current theatre in Theatre Street.
