A Four Day Music Festival

A four day music festival, as part of a run of triennial events.

Louis Spohr was invited back to Norwich once more but was unable to get time away from his day job as Director of Music in Kassel. Instead, he composed a new work for the Festival – The Fall of Babylon – which was very positively received.

For the first time, a ‘reserve fund’ was formalized – a proportion of the profits would be put aside to assist with the costs at the following Festival.

It was commissioned by Norfolk & Norwich Festival and first performed in Norwich this year.

Arts make life better
