FestivALE
The Festival appointed its first full-time artistic director – Marcus Davey. Davey quickly made his mark on the city and brought a fun, fresh excitement to proceedings.
No corner of the city was now off-limits for the Festival, including a launch event at the train station and more street performances and public engagement than ever before. Even a special drink – FestivALE – was brewed for festival!
Amongst the high-profile visitors was Austrian composer Gustav Mahler’s granddaughter, Marina Mahler.
