1999
A Long Festival
1999 was the longest festival to date, stretching for 17 days.
The Festival pulled off a musical and diplomatic triumph in the form a concert given by St George’s Cathedral Choir from Novi Sad, Norwich’s twin city at the time, which was badly affected by war.
The ever-growing visual arts celebrations helped to contribute to Norwich winning the Cultural Capital of the East title.
