Become a FriendRemember the magic and joy of sending and receiving postcards by creating memories of Great Yarmouth to share with your loved ones
Interested in igniting a connection, Ela Orleans developed Postcard Memories over the course of several visits to Great Yarmouth.
“I’ve received many postcards over the years which I’ve kept as precious tokens, regardless of changing life circumstances. Sadly, today people rarely physically contact others in this way. Instead, they get our updates about holidays and relationship status via social media. It’s convenient but stripped of reflection directed specifically at those we love.
I hope this project will inspire to reflect on the importance of friendship, love and attachment”
Original music and soundscape, interwoven with stories told by locals, will accompany you to five sites in Great Yarmouth all illustrated on a beautiful printed map. As you visit these locations and reflect on them, you can share these thoughts with friends and family through postcards of each place you visit.
Please note: You will need your own smartphone and headphones to listen to the audio. The audio can be streamed or downloaded from Spotify, iTunes or Google Podcasts, links to the audio are included in the pack.
