Natural Behaviour
January – July 2025
Queer Dance theatre company Thick & Tight have linked up (via introduction from Norfolk & Norwich Festival) with Queer Birders Norfolk in the research and creation of ‘Dying Song’, a new piece in their body of work, Natural Behaviour, which will explore how diversity and queerness is essential to life.
Queer Birders have invited Thick & Tight to field trips at Whitlingham Lake and Norfolk Wildlife Trust Sweet Briar Marshes for days out birding to see waterfowl, forest birds, owls and more. This opportunity will allow the Queer Birders to share their experiences of birding and connecting to nature with Thick & Tight.
Following the field trips, Thick & Tight have invited Queer Birders to partake in workshops to explore the theme through movement, creative expression and discussion. Dancer and disability advocate, Annie Edwards who will be leading in the creation of ‘Dying Song’ will also join the group to further develop the work.
Natural Behaviour will tour in Summer 2025, premiering at Battersea Arts Centre in June. Tickets are available here.
