Activity

Funders are increasingly looking for evidence of consultation/partnerships with communities. How do you factor this when planning your projects and how might this help you when making approaches for fundraising? We’ll look at some examples from other parts of the country where children and young people, heritage and culture have come together to address place-making, and other areas such as regeneration, housing, health and wellbeing. Led by mentor Fern Potter.

Facilitator: Fern Potter of Arts, Fundraising and Philanthropy

Fern Potter started her career as a professional dancer, choreographer, and teacher, founding her own company Stackmotion, teaching and touring in the USA and abroad. She has since moved into working in senior management roles in fundraising and development, working with and raising millions for various arts organisations, most recently as Development Director for Birmingham Royal Ballet. Fern mentors for the Chartered Institute of Fundraisers’ RAISE programme, and Cause4’s Heritage Compass programme, and is a regular trainer for Cause4 She lectures on Fundraising and Development for City, University of London’s MA in Media, Culture and Creative Industries department.
