Following last year’s scratch performance at the Festival, Crossing the Line returns for a full production, touring to regional venues.

Erik’s life has fallen apart since Dad died. Money is tight, his baby sisters demand all Mum’s attention, and concentrating on homework feels impossible.

As he turns away from school and friends, Erik’s bad behaviour attracts the wrong crowd. He’s excited by hanging with a new crew, and what seems like easy money for trainers and a phone. But Erik is quickly sucked in to a dark world of drug-dealing, violence and lies, risking not just his own safety, but that of his whole family.

Crossing the Line is a powerful drama, inspired by a true story. Adapted from Tia Fisher’s award-winning verse novel and devised with input from young people, it explores the devastating impact of county lines and the strength that can be found in the face of it.

Arts make life better

Norfolk & Norwich Festival brings tens of thousands of people together in celebration – it has been doing this for over 250 years. Through our May Festival and our year-round arts education work, focusing on children and young people, we lead and support celebration, creativity and curiosity in communities across Norfolk and the region.

This year we begin an exciting new initiative, Festival Connect & Create that will bring creative opportunities to those schools and communities with least provision. Creativity transforms people’s lives. It builds cohesive communities, develops vital skills and supports health and wellbeing. We want more people to have access to creative opportunities.

Please consider donating to support and develop this work. With your help we can increase access to the life changing power of the arts.
