Idrîsî Ensemble
Lost Harmonies: Endangered and Medieval Traditions
Sunday 11 May, 7.45pm
Norwich Cathedral
Tickets: £10.00 - £22.00
Following their sell-out London success, the Idrîsî Ensemble brings a mesmerising concert to the Festival, featuring rare music from Corsica, Greece, and Mallorca. Alongside Gaelic psalm singing and other treasures, there will be the world premiere of an Old Roman chant. Pioneering a fresh approach to historical performance, Idrîsî Ensemble performs medieval repertoire from period manuscripts, together with UNESCO-protected and endangered traditions.
With world-leading traditional performers and early music specialists, this very special concert is a celebration of human imagination and a powerful encounter with sounds on the brink of extinction.
