Tickets: £9.00 - £38.00

A memorised, kinetic production of Shostakovich’s Chamber Symphony and Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings, performed by Scottish Ensemble and developed in partnership with choreographer Örjan Andersson. Shostakovich’s haunting Chamber Symphony propels the audience into a dynamic tableau, where musicians traverse the stage with captivating intensity, while Tchaikovsky’s joyful Serenade sees graceful sweeps and fluid movements, igniting a sensory feast for the eyes and ears alike.

Bringing performers and audience into the very heart of the music, the Ensemble is liberated by movement to create a striking visual representation of the patterns, intricacies and passions of these iconic works. This is music that encompasses the entire human emotional spectrum. From the darkest, most desolate despair, the kind that burrows into the corners of your psyche, to utter euphoria, the kind that sets you free. This is the human condition painted in high intensity colours.

Arts make life better

Norfolk & Norwich Festival brings tens of thousands of people together in celebration – it has been doing this for over 250 years. Through our May Festival and our year-round arts education work, focusing on children and young people, we lead and support celebration, creativity and curiosity in communities across Norfolk and the region.

This year we begin an exciting new initiative, Festival Connect & Create that will bring creative opportunities to those schools and communities with least provision. Creativity transforms people’s lives. It builds cohesive communities, develops vital skills and supports health and wellbeing. We want more people to have access to creative opportunities.

Please consider donating to support and develop this work. With your help we can increase access to the life changing power of the arts.
