Kleio Quartet
Monday 11 May, 7.30pm
Octagon Chapel
Tickets: £10.00 - £20.00
Recently appointed as the resident quartet for the Royal Northern College of Music’s String Quartet Studio, the Kleio Quartet arrive at the Festival with a growing international reputation. They have previously held residencies at Britten-Pears Arts and the Strijkkwartet Biënnale Amsterdam.
In the first of two appearances this year, they perform classics by Mendelssohn and Schubert, alongside Kaija Saariaho’s Terra Memoria – a powerfully moving piece the composer dedicated ‘for those departed’.
