Levitation Orchestra

This is a past event which has now ended.

Co-operatively composed music which is co-operatively owned. This is the ethos of Levitation Orchestra, a collective, as well as an open platform for artists to learn from one another. Founded in 2018 by Axel Kaner-Lidstrom, the 11-piece group features some of London’s most creative and individual instrumentalists.

The group released their second album ‘Illusions & Realities’ (Gearbox Records) in October 2021. They are currently writing their third studio album and will perform all new music at the Festival.

‘Almost impossible not to get swept up in the energy of this twelve-strong lineup’ Stamp The Wax

‘Vibrant, joyous and cosmopolitan… among the best albums to come out of the London underground scene’— All About Jazz

‘An inimitable record brimming with boundless talent, vibrant dynamism, and an effortless exploration of genre – Loud And Quiet

‘The album hangs together brilliantly, flowing majestically.’ – Financial Times

Arts make life better

Norfolk & Norwich Festival brings tens of thousands of people together in celebration – it has been doing this for 250 years. Through our May Festival and our year-round arts education work, focusing on children and young people, we lead and support celebration, creativity and curiosity in communities across Norfolk and the region.

This year we begin an exciting new initiative, Festival Connect & Create that will bring creative opportunities to those schools and communities with least provision. Creativity transforms people’s lives. It builds cohesive communities, develops vital skills and supports health and wellbeing. We want more people to have access to creative opportunities.

Please consider donating to support and develop this work. With your help we can increase access to the life changing power of the arts.
