Natural Behaviour – Queer Birders Workshops
Saturday 3 May at 1pm & Sunday 4 May at 11am
Sweet Briar Marshes / The Garage, Norwich
Queer dance theatre company Thick & Tight are back for their second round of bird walking and workshops with Queer Birders Norfolk. The two have linked up in the research of Thick & Tight’s new show Natural Behaviour, which will explore how diversity and queerness is essential to life.
Participants will share their experiences which will feed into the shows creation but won’t be performers in the show.
Join the Queer Birders and Thick & Tight for a field trip to Sweet Briar Marshes, and the following day a movement workshop lead by Thick & Tight.
Saturday 3 May, 1-4pm – Sweet Briar Marshes
Queer Birders have invited Thick & Tight to a field trip to Sweet Briar Marshes for a day out birding and forest bathing. This will be an opportunity to meet others with similar interests and spend some time outdoors enjoying nature.
Sunday 4 May, 11am – 3pm – The Garage
The following day Thick & Tight have invited Queer Birders to take part in a free workshop to explore the themes through movement, creative expression and discussion with dance artist and disability advocate Annie Edwards.
We know that not everyone feels comfortable with movement or dance. We would hate this to put people off attending, so there will be alternative ways for people to engage if they don’t want to move!
We ask that participants sign up with the intention to attend both the birding walk and workshop the following day.
By booking below you will have a space on the walk on Sat 3 and workshop on Sun 4.
If you have any questions before signing up, please email Dan on Daniel.randall@nnfestival.org.uk
