Dorothy's Shoes Presents
Ragroof Tea Dance: The Roaring Twenties
Everyone is welcome – absolute beginners and experienced dancers alike. A chance for everyone to trip the light fantastic!
The legendary Ragroof Tea Dance returns to the Adnams Spiegeltent – a cornucopia of dancing delights, featuring a DJ playing vintage tunes, glamorous costumes, glorious dance displays, and our trademark Instant Dance Classes in a number of popular dance rhythms. No partners needed – our gender-neutral approach encourages everyone on to the dancefloor.
On Saturday 21 May, we go back to The Roaring Twenties for a breathless marathon of dance crazes, taking in Charleston, Foxtrot, Twinkle and Tango along the way. Channel your favourite silent movie star – Valentino, vamp or flapper. Beastly Cads and Bright Young Things (of all ages) very welcome!
On Sunday 22 May, it’s Tropicalia! A fabulous focus on vintage Latin rhythms inspired by the Brazilian Bombshell Carmen Miranda and South American carnival. Expect a tropical cocktail of sizzling Sambas, sultry Bossa Novas, and sexy Mambos and Cha Chas. Feel free to dress to impress in your most colourful clothes.
The themes inform our dance displays and classes, but each dance will also feature a general mix of Ballroom and Latin dance rhythms.
Tea and cake will be served to your table – but the bar will also be open for anyone who fancies a crafty tipple.
