Creative Places

Place-based work

Place-making is crucial to the Festival Connect & Create programme and underpins the Creative Places strand. Working across the region, we instigate and support creative projects in collaboration with artists, communities and partners in a year-round, place-based approach. Each project brings communities into closer contact with creativity and helps make our part of the world a better place to live, work and play.

We deliver this work in many ways. We support and fund residencies for artists to develop projects within local communities, collaborate with local partners to forge innovative projects that meet our shared goals, and produce creative opportunities for local people through national touring projects.

If you’re an artist, community leader or local organisation that would like to work with us, get in touch here: fcc@nnfestival.org.uk

You can find out more about our current and past projects below:

‘I loved working with Dan and one of my favourite things is that he makes you feel so comfortable. This gives everybody a level of reassurance that it’s a collaborative project.

In the future, I hope to create opportunities for young people like me and help them have and reach high aspirations so they can achieve their dreams.

Young people need more things like this to inspire them and to make them feel like they are a part of something! ‘

Arts make life better

Norfolk & Norwich Festival brings tens of thousands of people together in celebration – it has been doing this for over 250 years. Through our May Festival and our year-round arts education work, focusing on children and young people, we lead and support celebration, creativity and curiosity in communities across Norfolk and the region.

This year we begin an exciting new initiative, Festival Connect & Create that will bring creative opportunities to those schools and communities with least provision. Creativity transforms people’s lives. It builds cohesive communities, develops vital skills and supports health and wellbeing. We want more people to have access to creative opportunities.

Please consider donating to support and develop this work. With your help we can increase access to the life changing power of the arts.
