Kids Business

March 2026-May 2026

Handing all the decisions over to children aged 5 – 15, Kids Business will be a new site specific public art work in a high street shop in Swaffham. Working with local budding young entrepreneurs, artists Hunt & Darton will run a series of workshops to grow ideas, cultivate skills, and bring to fruition the creation of a new business, democratically conjured up through the imagination of a group of kids.

Hunt & Darton is a live art collaboration between Jenny Hunt and Holly Darton. They are a lead UK arts organisation in publicly engaged, interactive and highly creative events. Empowering people to simply express themselves, H&D make art events that they create and perform with the general public. Taking their work directly to people, often taking on a recognisable format (a cafe) or popular medium (radio), popping up on high streets, interrupting daily routines by challenging automated behaviour and having a laugh.

Timeline:

  • Recruitment Day is 18th April. Come to Swaffham, meet Hunt & Darton, learn about the project and sign up. Venue TBC but it will be in Swaffham town centre!
  • Workshops will take place in late April/early May.

Arts make life better

Norfolk & Norwich Festival brings tens of thousands of people together in celebration – it has been doing this for over 250 years. Through our May Festival and our year-round arts education work, focusing on children and young people, we lead and support celebration, creativity and curiosity in communities across Norfolk and the region.

This year we begin an exciting new initiative, Festival Connect & Create that will bring creative opportunities to those schools and communities with least provision. Creativity transforms people’s lives. It builds cohesive communities, develops vital skills and supports health and wellbeing. We want more people to have access to creative opportunities.

Please consider donating to support and develop this work. With your help we can increase access to the life changing power of the arts.
