Arts make life better

Norfolk & Norwich Festival brings tens of thousands of people together in celebration – it has been doing this for 250 years. Through our May festival and our year-round arts education work, focusing on children and young people, we lead and support celebration, creativity and curiosity in communities across Norfolk and the region.

This year we begin an exciting new initiative, Festival Connect & Create that will bring creative opportunities to those schools and communities with least provision. Creativity transforms people’s lives. It builds cohesive communities, develops vital skills and supports health and wellbeing. We want more people to have access to creative opportunities.

Creative Journeys

This year, we launch our giving campaign, Creative Journeys, to raise awareness and funds for Festival Connect & Create, our programme of participation and engagement.

Through this programme, we hope to continue to bring these experiences to children and young people, creating a moment that they’ll remember. In 2024, we aim to work with more than 20 schools and reach over 500 children; as well as delivering projects in, and with, communities across East Anglia.

Through our bursary programme, we will be supporting eight young creatives and eight artists, to develop their work which will contribute to their communities, as well as to the creative journeys of children and young people in East Anglia.

Through Creative Journeys, we explore the importance of arts experiences by speaking to different people about a key creative moment in their life. And we want you to reflect on a memorable creative moment that you’ve experienced, and what impact it had on you.

You can keep up to date with our current Festival Connect & Create projects here.
